A new roof, down to the wood.
The cheapest replacement quote in Northern Virginia is usually a second layer nailed over the first. We don't sell that roof. Here's what goes on yours.
Tear-off to bare decking
Every old shingle, nail and strip of felt comes off so we can see the plywood. Rotted sections get replaced before anything covers them. A layover hides that damage and voids most shingle warranties.

Ice & water shield, underlayment, drip edge
Self-sealing membrane along the eaves and up every valley, where Northern Virginia ice dams and wind-driven rain get in. Synthetic underlayment over the rest, new drip edge on every eave and rake.

Shingles, ridge vent, cleanup
Architectural shingles in the color your HOA signed off on, ridge venting so the attic can breathe, then a magnetic sweep of the lawn, beds and driveway for nails before the truck pulls out.
Ask about colors →Warranty paperwork is registered in your name before we leave, up to 50 years on product and labor depending on the system you choose.
Every roof is priced after we've stood on it.
No price list, because a ranch in Herndon and a steep colonial in McLean with four dormers are different jobs. The free inspection measures, counts the layers, probes the decking, and puts an itemized number in writing.
What moves the price
- ·Pitch. Steep roofs need more staging and a slower crew
- ·Layers. Two old layers take longer to strip and fill more of the trailer than one
- ·Decking. Rotted plywood is replaced and priced per sheet, so you can see it
- ·Cut-ups. Valleys, dormers, chimneys and skylights all need flashing, and flashing is hand work
- ·Material. Architectural asphalt is the value pick; designer shingles and metal cost more and last longer
How you pay for it
- ·0% interest financing for up to 24 months, arranged before install day
- ·New roofs from $79/mo
- ·A deposit holds your date; after that, no further payment until the roof is done and you're satisfied
- ·Storm damage? We document it and meet your adjuster on the roof. The claim decision stays between you and your insurer
Good to know: from 2027, Virginia law (HB 677) says insurers can't refuse, cancel or non-renew an owner-occupied home policy solely because the asphalt roof is under 15 years old. Older roofs get no such protection. If your insurer is asking about roof age, see roof insurance claims.
Tear-off in the morning, new roof by evening.
Drag the slider. The crew arrives early, the dump trailer backs into the driveway, and by late afternoon the only sign we were there is the roof.
Larger, steeper or multi-layer roofs can run into a second day; the quote says which. Deciding between a patch and a new roof? Start with roof repair.
Three steps. No runaround.
Free inspection
Roof and attic. We measure, count the layers, probe the decking and photograph everything. Often the same day you call.
Written quote & financing
An itemized price with the shingle, color and warranty named, plus financing options. If a repair would do, we say so.
One-day install
Our own crew, start to finish. Tear-off, decking, underlayment, shingles, ridge vent, magnet sweep. You walk the roof with the foreman before we leave.
"The LCR crew said my roof didn't have to be replaced yet, but still gave me a quote. It was lower than the four others I'd received."

Roof replacement questions, answered.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes in Northern Virginia are torn off and re-shingled in one day. Steep pitches, several old layers or a lot of rotted decking can push into a second day. We don't open a roof with rain in the forecast, so a storm can move your date.
How much does a new roof cost?
Size, pitch, layers, decking and material set the number, so we won't guess over the phone. After the free inspection you get an itemized written price. With 0% financing for up to 24 months, new roofs start from $79/mo. A deposit holds your date; nothing else is due until you're satisfied.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on your county and what we find. Fairfax County generally doesn't require a permit for a like-for-like shingle replacement unless a large area of decking is replaced or the roof is fire-rated, which is common on townhouses. Arlington follows a similar rule and always requires one on fire-rated townhouse roofs. We check before the quote and pull the permit when one is needed.
Can I stay home during the install?
Yes, and most people do. It's loud, and the house shakes while the old roof comes off, so take pictures off the walls, cover anything stored in the attic, and keep pets somewhere calm. Move cars out of the driveway so the trailer has room.
What happens to the old roof?
Straight into our dump trailer in the driveway, and it leaves with us the same day. Before we go, the crew runs a rolling magnet over the lawn, beds and driveway for nails, then walks the yard once more by eye.
